I always never cease to be amazed at the standard of cars at these "local shows".
We went to one in our town yesterday - look for pics in a new thread "Local Street Rod Show" or something similar. Check it out - there's some great machinery

Like you, we live in a lovely little town (only 12000 pop though) where everyone is friendly. There's a lot of car talent (builders, fabricators etc) where we live; but no real enthusiasm for European cars. One of the guys we met yesterday could have kissed me when he knew we owned Porsches as he has a JPS 3 series BMW and no-one to go for a crisp run with in that car - the local car boyz all screw their noses up at him and don't get the Bimmer thing at all!
