I agree with jim727(I think thats he said?)...in that when the cab and boom rotate and then suddenly stop, the twist is transmited to the ground through the track laterally by the four large end gears.
The track kinks and pushes the weaker #1 and #6 gears side ways.

A small guide rail next to each could stop this, or a hydraulic pressure dampner to slow the cabs jolting stop- if that is the problem.
