Edwards and his wife have a 7 year old child and a 9 year old child. Mrs. Edwards is going to die from metastatic breast cancer. Edwards may have no particular affection for his wife, but his children are preparing for the emotional devastation of losing their mother. I think most fathers would think it is important to stay close to your children at a time like this.
