I don't know how to state this without offence, but this is the exact reason why professional politicians, and the system that supports them, needs reform. Term limits at a minimum, funding reform now.
We vote in November, 2008. Think about that and the meaning of this press conference.
When my wife had her ultrasound on our second child, they thought there might be signs of spinal-bifida...in the ensuing two weeks between the potential and the next appointment, we rearranged our priorities, jobs and ambitions to support what we thought would be our handicapped child. No thought to our needs, but our child.
Turned out the initial ultrasound was in error, but my wife and I gained much in terms of our priorities.
