Yes--an overly consumptive country--especially gasoline.

But it's the government's fault--mainly the Republicans, though Clinton didn't help, either--for not mandating mpg standards for trucks and SUVs--especially those used non-commercially.

And school busing hasn't helped, either, by the way. Moving kids around town with fleets of gas guzzlers just for racial reasons doesn't hack it with me. If the schools were more uniformly funded, it would be a moot point.
