I think what bothers me most about this story is that in this case you have high school sstudents who are INVOLVED and actually CREATING. That is something to be nurtured, not stamped on. Do there need to be limits? Of course. But one thing that is killing this country is the dumbing down of education curriculum and the inhibition of student creativity.
Creative thought is the ONLY competitive advantage that this country has. And we are quickly beating it out of our kids. We can fund huge weapons programs but we cut music, art, theater, and even sports at schools. We complain about a lack of scientists but don't see the connection between art and science...instead focusing on rote pedagogy that is dragging us down.
