While cycling, I've been hit five times - once intentionally; and once shot in the back. I was even chased by a semi a la "Terminator 2" style near the 405 Freeway.
None of those incidents took place on mountain roads, but rather on Westside L.A. streets.
IMO, population is much more dangerous than the lone spiritedly-driven 911 or any other car.
