Ahhh. nice garage project.

My brother and I had built the companion to this piece the day after Christmas, which including a trip to Lowes and the "engineering" took all freaking day. It had been too cold all winter to spend the day building the big one but the wood was neatly stacked in front of the lawnmower and the grass is growing. So, time for a little spring cleaning. This took me all day by myself. It's not exactly Ikea quality (or completely square) but it keeps the junk off the floor. This took all day as well, but since I was working alone, I built the bottom of the frame, set it up and climbed up with ladders to add the rest. I actually climbed inside it to screw the brackets from within.

I used the Simpson strong tie brackets which ain't cheap, but are quality. The screws are like $10 for 100, but worth it. The first 5 threads have little teeth and they go right in...every time. Nicest screws I have ever worked with. Each bracket has something like 12 screws in it.

Dimensions on this monster are 30" x 48" x 10'. The top shelf it 10" high and cleared the light in the photo by 1". My garage hasn't been this tidy since the house was built. LOL
