FWIW, I have a BendPak scissors lift and I love it (I had to have occasional mobility, so 2 post while nice, was out of the question).
I service all the cars in my sig plus a 4 x4 Toyota and have NEVER had an issue with access to any portion of any of the cars. I have changed complete exhaust systems and have put a clutch in a 944 turbo which requires exhaust removal & transmission removal.
All that said, you may want to look at bi-fold doors. I have a 40' wide x 14' tall one on one end of my airplane hangar and it is well insulated.
