Michigan has officially turned into the Bizzaro World. We've had the worst economy in the USA for several years. We have a 1 billion+ $$ deficit, companies are picking up and moving out as fast as they can, real estate values are down, blah, blah, blah. Our dumb blond Governess and her crack legislature are apparently unaware of any of this. A budget proposal yesterday included a plan to give away an iPod to every school age child in the State.
According to a radio interview this morning, the genius behind this plan believes we need to modernize the state. Learning from books doesn't work in today's day and age - it's 18th century technology ......
We've also had proposals for a new service tax, raised income tax, a 9 cent per gallon gas tax increase and a junk-food tax!
