All the Ferrari comments?

Those F cars are great, but they are also for arrogant people only. Kind of like my dad always buying Buicks, because he didn't want to have the Cadillac image. Car "image" is hardly a new thing.

I have
yet to meet a Ferrari owner who lives up to the negtive decriptions posted here. My $4,000 944is just as welcome at a Ferrari owner's countrydrive as cars ten and one hundred times its value.
Are you comparing you dad to the "arrogant" Ferrari owners - as he is only concerned with image?

But I still chuckled...years ago, a hotel in Eugene, I witnessed a Red (is there any other color?) Ferrari pull up front. A gray haired driver emerged, his passenger an early 20's attractive blond. They must have planned to stay, because luggage was removed from the car. Probably a successful guy taking his grand daughter to dinner, treating her to a weekend on the town. I imagined this scene being repeated...only the damned trunk wouldn't open...

Yes - there are other colors. Although keep in mind red was the national racing colour of Italy back in the day when the emphasis was on country rather then team. Ever wonder why Porsche, BMW, and Mercedes concept cars are shown in silver? Why are the racing Aston's green? You think things have changed a lot in the short (40 years?) you've been involved in automobiles - let me tell you, automobiles have been around a lot longer than you.
I love listening to anyone older than me talk about what it was like when they where younger, but when all they want to do is complain - and not do anything about it, then I tend to not hold them in quite the same respect. I've sat for three hours+ talking with a retired man who's first car was a 356 he bought more then twice my age ago. The power went out while we where talking - but didn't bother us.
He still has his Porsche he bought new from the factory and picked up in Germany.
100% of all Lamborghini driver's I've waved at - have waved back. I've even had an owner of '70 Miura S wave first at me and my 944.
Same goes for Ferrari's.
I cannot say the same about Porsche drivers, many are just oblivious yacking into a cellphone, or just drive it because people associate the name with expensive. Then you hit the real enthusiasts - and those are fun. But I find the percentage of Ferrari enthusiasts owners to Ferraris I've seen, compared to that of Porsche - to be so far into Ferrari's favor its not even silly.
