Yeah, it totally dpends on what your 'mission' is.
Mine was:
Never been to Mexico, except Tijuana
Wanted warm weather (was 88-91)
Wanted a new adventure
Shore excursions and to see the different aspects of Mexico
That said, the negatives were a few:
Aggressive saleskids hawking $1 toys
Harbors in PV and Maz were really smelly and the water was an "interesting color"
Out in the boonies of PV the plastic trash was everywhere.
But that's Mexico, and part of the enjoyment for me was the variety of what I saw and did.
Overall: Anything goes in Mexico.
A country of enterprising individuals out to make a buck.
Sort of a backwater quasi-capitalistic / bartering / poor country with touches of beauty.
Interesting place for sure!
