I know Peter, but this has turned in to a real "while you are in there" project, and the bank account is not big enough. I have the time to get it all done, but not the cash. The petrol tank was really bad - I managed to poke my finger through the bottom of the tank
Glad I found that rust whilst the tank was empty and the car was in the garage and not on the track!!! The petrol pump was dead as well. i am moving as fast as i can on the car, but with so much upgrades and replacements on the front, I will probably have to deal with the back suspension as well before i can take the car out on the road again.
If I manage to get the car done before next summer I will be happy - and if you still have the stuff, I might trade some beer for a corner balance with you
berettafan, the steering rack reconditioning was not bad at all, just lots of elbow grease and cleaning time. The difficult part was locating the replacement bearings. I found them in the end from a supplier in the UK. let me know if you are going to do the job, and I am happy to help you via email...
