Hey guys, I need a little help here. I loaned my definitive Porsche 911 book out and don't have it for reference. I have a massaged 3.0L SC motor in my track car and was looking to trace it to a specific year. When I was looking for the engine number, lo and behold it is not stamped into the case!
WTF? Here are the numbers that I wrote down to help me ID its origin.
Engine casting # just below and slightly forward of where engine number is stamped - 930/16.
Case numbers - 930.101.103.6R and 930.101.104.5R
Can anyone help me figure out what year this came from? Also, why would there not be an engine number stamped on the casting to the right of the fan housing?
Second question, but much easier. The car is a 76 VIN# 9116201017 and has paint code 908-9-2. What color was that?
