I think HP gains would depend on what is on there that you are bypassing. I personally did it to get rid of 20lbs at the rear of the car and I love the sound. It is not as loud as the V-8 open header vets and cameros. It will be interesting to see how it works at the track. I have been behind some p-cars with open pipes and they make your ears hurt. This one doesn't sound as loud as the ones I have been behind but maybe at WOT from behind it will be. I do know that at 6000 rpm your face will hurt from the smile.
