he was a teetotaler, no problem with that, but he was constantly arguing that Dutch beer was the best in the world, because it was the biggest brewing company and produced the most volume...
no matter what you would say , impossible to make him admit he was wrong...
show him results from beer tasting contests, world wide, nope , not factual enough
pointing him to the fact that, if you don't drink it, how can you even discuss it? nope, he was 100% sure he was right
the best fun we had , was when he was betting to our mad Scotsman, who would go ballistic over everything, especially welching on any bets...
sure enough , the bet was won by the Scotsman, and the Dutchie would start argueing with nonsensical stuff
brilliant entertainment on the job
usually when he wouldn't budge, it would escalate with somebody calling him a poofta or something (lots of expats here) and he'de get "upset"
upset meant , he wouldn't talk to you anymore
time goes by, and in the end, he had beef with pretty much everyone, and was limited to talking to new hires, who at first would think he was very friendly, but in the end , ended up having beef, and beeing labled as silent treatment recipient....
