Nathans_Dad spews a lot of political nonsense but in this instance he's spot on. I think. Although, I'm still hoping my life will be turned upside down and ruined irreparably by an irresistable infatuation.

Seriously, love is a decision. It is the product of hard work, frankly. One of the most unfortunate bits of social nonmenclature is the saying that people "get" married. They don't "get" anything. A wedding is a mutual commitment to work hard, and a promise to succeed at that hard work.

Aerkuld, I've stated that I would like to have my world toppled by that familiar longing that cannot be satisfied. That craving. That unqualified and undeniable need to possess. And while I'm waiting for that, here is this really nice, convenient, comfortable, satisfying, efficient, effective relationship that is fun and easy. I'm scared, frankly. And I don't know what I'm going to do. I know what I'm going to do on Saturday. But I'm not sure what I will want to do when difficulties arise. And they will. Do I have the desire and commitment to stay and make it work? I dunno.

I'm going to go slow. Because I'm a chicken. You should go slow too. But I suspect that your friendship has the depth required for the commitment and hard work that would/will become necessary. If so, then the rest is easy. Very easy. Go for it. As good as this relationship is now, just wait until a part of it has been built with your hard work and commitment.....and hers. It gets very special indeed. More special as time goes on.

And one more thing. Lots of guys will tell you flat out that if you know for sure, for a fact, that this woman cares for you and would commit to you........and if you know for sure you can trust her and that she would be faithful and reliable and honest to you.......then you've got a shot at something lots of guys never do.

Does that help. Hey, don't tell the other Pelicanheads that I spoke seriously on this issue. It'd ruin my macho image.
