I don't know a lot about the XJ models, but I thought they pretty much all had some GM based 3spd auto slushbox, aside from a very small handful of early models (late seventies). I'd like to see a stick edition. That might be a neat car to hold onto. Again, I don't know if any of them are "highly sought after", but then again, it was produced for nearly two decades and certainly is a recognizable Jaguar. Much more character, IMHO, than a common BMW 3 series, unless it's the M ragtop.
I'm still waiting on the chance to buy an all original, one owner E type with 9k miles on it. I used to deliver newspapers to it's owner and recently bought a Volvo P1800 from him. Jags are loved by a different breed, I sense, than the P cars.
I can't see many people smoking a pipe and driving an RSR, but a Jag...
