122's are awesome cars, built like a tank, I owned 2 of them yrs ago. A few things that you should know...they have no timing belts or chains, they are gear driven. The crank gear is steel, never will wear out but the cam gear is nylon and it lasts about like the timing belts. When the gear breaks it doesn't wreck anything just need to re- time it.

Another problem is they have crappy brakes, other than that these cars are indestructable, the motor is just a 4 banger tractor motor, easy to work on and pretty safe to in when involved ina accident.

I totaled one out yrs ago, just finished rebuilding the carb and driving it on a narrow 2 lane coming into a left hand corner, was kinda over the line and near the apex saw a car coming at me, hit the brakes hard but slid on some loose gravel and went off the road. The road was about 8-10 feet above a apple orchard so I landed on top of a apple tree, uprooted the tree and landed on the roof. No seat belt on and I just crawled out the rear window which was broken. No injury just a totaled car and I bought 3 apple trees for the farmer.
