It must be tough being a Conservative these days
Today's Conservative is:
Strong on Pro Choice
Strong on Gays not being able to marry
Strong on tort reform
Weak on:
National Defense with a completely open southern border and 5% of all incoming cargo screened
Waging war, sending 150K troops to the work of 300K
Military, sending soldiers to war improperly equipped without enough training, without enough downtime in between tours
Spending, from a bridge to nowhere to, well just about anything. 70s-style Democrats would be proud.
Education, teaching kids to take tests rather than learn how to think and compete with China and India putting out 5 to 10 times the amount of "by the numbers" engineers
Energy with no unified, national initiative to lessen our need for foreign oil
Righteous Retribution with OBL still roaming free. Guess those 3K who died really did for nothing, except we got a war out of it.
Moral Authority with torture, wiretapping and Berlin-style walls being erected
what else?
what do Conservatives stand for these days? I can really see why all the Republican candidates, from lifetime hunter Romney to closet Democrat Rudy, mmm, who else is in the race...are being ignored by the public.
What's the Republican platform going to be in 08?
