I work in schools on professional development. We aren't teaching kids to take tests, rather, finally focusing on content and measuring it rather than paying a teacher to go close his/her door and teach whatever they like. Most of the bad teaching I see comes from those that are very Democrat. Most of the bad educational policy I see has come from Democrat/liberal policies.
Teachers that hate accountability seem to love to bash with, "We just have to teach to the test". They, and whoever wrote the statment above, clearly don't get it.

Actually, the Dept. of Ed should be abolished and re-started fresh. I used to do DoE, NSF contract cost accounting. What a waste of money these contracts are! Of course these are nothing compared to the DoD work I used to do! We could have billed and been paid in the millions on a little $500K contract. But that's another story.
