Tabdula, you are a man of taste and style. I just bought a similar Mauviel sauteuse evasee here in NYC and paid well more than the commodity price of copper if you know what I mean.
With power comes responsibility: it's thin copper with a tin lining, reacts VERY quickly to changes in the heat. If you turn the gas on HIGH you will blow the bottom out, you betcha. That being said, high heat is seldom required.
Here's the difference: you have a sauce going and it's getting too hot and it's about to break. You instantly dial it down and it's saved. With lesser cookware or heaven forbid some kind of resistance heating instead of gas, you got a broken sauce that will freaking BOIL before it turns around.
How about those cast-iron handles, too. Nice and cool to the touch. WARNING TO PPOT: Do not put your tongue on the handle.
