I'm reviving this old thread with a question for the tree experts here.
The fairly-large Blue Jacaranda we've got here has shown virtually no signs of life yet this spring. I literally thought it was dead but today I spotted a few tiny green sprouts.
Normally these trees green-up completely and start blooming in spring into early summer. It's nearly May now. The Jacaranda trees near my office in Santa Monica are way greener than mine.
Could this be a side-effect of the several sub-freezing nights we had this winter, or soil toxicity or some other weird problem?
It would be a major bummer to lose this mature tree as it's a significant privacy barrier between our yard and the neighbor's on that side...
