Very few cars left that you can buy that have a body-on-frame and RWD. Even a lot of the so called SUVs or crossovers don't have the body/frame arrangement. Frankly, I think having a frame makes a stout vehicle. So, if I didn't need a truck (which I do), I'd probably own one anyway.

I always thought 1/2T, 3/4T and 1T were what payload the truck could carry comfortably and still stop in a reasonable distance. Unloaded, a PU is not the best ride, but they are getting better. The worst one I ever had was an '81 454 crew cab dually. 8 MPG coming or going, loaded or not. Once, with a 2 foot high stack of drywall in the back, it rode like a Cadillac. Most of the time it bounced so much you couldn't talk. Well, that's our CA freeways for ya. On the open road, it wasn't too bad except for the mileage.

Man, at $3 something a gallon, it would cost a grand a month to feed that beast.
