OK so heres the thing. It is my understanding (because I have read and been told) that this assembly should fit together easily once you free the arm from the pivot and allow for extra travel. I am not able to do this. The first pic shows the spring expands considerably past the clearance. The next 2 pics show how the spring fits when I allow to position the arm back up in postion. Now This spring is tight and I have respected my fingers enough to have kept them in good condition after 30 years of messing w/ this stuff. Is there something I am missing here? Do I in fact have manipulate this spring or arm somehow to make it work?
