Laser BC2 installation...Part Deux

Yep, on my 2nd test ride although the vibrations did go away at lower RPMs it was very noticeable at higher. When I got back to my garage I gave everything a thorough look-over and didn't see any touching the exhaust to the frame. I decided to wait until I could install the exhaust hanger and could cut the hanger bolt before taking it out for another spin.

The nice weather we had yesterday pursuaded me to take down the cans. With the cans off I did three things:

1. I cut the rear hanger bolt.

2. I adjusted the cans on the rear hanger. I previously had about 1/4 to 1/2 inch space between the mounting clamps (retaining rings) of the cans and the end of the cans where the rivets are. I decided to slide the cans so the mounting clamps touch the end with the rivets. This effectively moves the cans a little further from the pipes so there isn't so much force on the pipes. I did this because I noticed my left can seemed tight when I removed it. I also noticed the springs retaining the cans weren't as tight as they should be.

3. As a short term fix to the y-hanger I decided to remove my accessory power plug until I could get a longer bolt. It's mounted on the left side where the y-hanger needs to be mounted. I mounted the y-hanger clamp without any issues other than being without a power plug until I can get a longer hex bolt.

I took photos of the install but I just realized that my CF card wasn't in the camera so I'll have to go take some more to post.

I have 2 concerns left:

1. The cans are very close to the lower edge of the rear tail light assembly.

2. The pipe from the left can doesn't seem to be seating as deep as it did before. I didn't feel any leaks when I started her up but I did notice a difference in how far in it seated into the 1-2 portion.

I'll take photos and post later today.
