You will be hard pressed to find a good car in Canada for $40,000. I had to import from the states to find the right car. If you buy a 87 or older car, you won't have to worry about emission compliance. 1989's had a G50 5 speed Trans and are worth quite a bit of a premium. I believe the clutches were hydraulic starting in 87. My 86 is a cable clutch 930 4 speed. They work great as long as the syncros are taken care of. I think the interiors and brakes were updated in 86, somebody correct me if I am wrong.
