For some reason, good 930's are cheaper in the US. My experience is that the price cannot be adjusted to only the exchange rate. My car cost about 37.000 cdn after duty, taxes and licensing. If you buy a good original 930 in Canada, you are looking at $45,000 with good mileage and proper paperwork. Add both taxes (if purchased from a dealer) and you are easily over 50,000.
As far as a 3.6 transplant car, they are quick but don't have the blast of a 930 (IMHO). 930's are a reliable car if maintained and not turbo'd out of your driveway when cold.
If I was brokering a car for a customer, the first place I would look is the north eastern US. You are only 8 hrs to New York, Connecticut, NJ etc. Good cars come up on this board frequently. The process to import is very easy.
Cheers
