When I was a teen I worked as a clean up guy for a porsche/jaguar dealer. We used a chemical solvent called Take Off. It would easly wipe away any adhesive. If theres a dealer clean up supplier in your area I suggest you go to them to find this product. Ours in the mid west is a company called Car Bright. You could also use paint thiner but you will certainly strip all the wax from the roof and will probably need to buff the roof again to regain the the paints luster.
