Different laws I guess. Here in Arizona you are allowed to pull out of the HOV lane at anytime, especially if someone faster is coming up behind.
Not saying that you are the "bad guy" but if someone is chewing on my rear I am going to let him by. If the cop stops me for crossing the white line will point to the guy speeding off into the distance and say "I was concerned for my safety and moved aside"... then mention "BTW officer, why was the tailgater not stopped for breaking the law as well? "
Guess it just smokes me to have to deal with all these people sitting in either the HOV or passing lane and driving at a slower speed than others on the road. Move over and let the faster traffic through.
