Solution for tailgaters, assuming you are NOT in fast lane holding them up, and have room in front of you to maneuver:
Step 1: Down-shift, matching revs, maintaining same speed.
Step 2: Mash gas pedal while simultaneously applying brake with left foot (just enough to trip brake light).
Watch them fade into the distance.
I think the problem stems from the fact that most idiots on the road think that "they" are going the perfect speed, and anyone going faster than them is crazy/irresponsible, but anyone going slower than them is slow/impeding.
