For me, this whole thing becomes negative when someone tries to "pass a car off" as real when their intent is to project a false image of wealth or financial success. It's a lot like the guy that wears a fake Rolex. It is a CON!
What other motivation is their for the Covin?
Cars like the Beck/Porsche replicas and Supertech/Ford GT replicas are a dichotomy in my opinion. They do offer exhilarating performance, high quality components, and exotic looks (they are copies of the genuine article). But, I just can't see beyond the jackasses that parade their Forsches, F'Ferraris, and F'ford Gt's around to project that false image.
For that matter, it leaves the same taste in my mouth when I meet someone that buys a $20,000 911 and has no interest in the car other than "blinging it out" and parading it around like it cost him $100k.
