If the vehicle isn't pre-wired for a brake controller, that's not a huge problem as there are only about four wires required to hook it up. If it is not wired, the biggest hassle will be getting the wiring from the brake controller in the cab back to the connector at the hitch.

The Tekonsha Prodigy is a very popular model. The one I bought is a Hayes Genesis.
