check your main grounds , high resistance across a ground will heat things up fast . if you had the motor out check the braided main ground at the trans. you can also check the ground side of the relay with a ohm meter (key off of course whenever checking ohms). pin out the ground side of the relay and put the other side to ground on the body or motor clean metal not painted. you should have low ohms 0 to 5 ohms not 50 or open (infinint)check you r connections at the battery also if you unhooked to remove the motor. good luck ,if you have any ?s hit me up.
