You know? I'm kind of thinking in the same vein. Not Mustang necessarily, but definitely V-8. Cindy & I together drive around 8,000 miles per year. $10 per gallon gas wouldn't hurt us that much. This makes V-8 powered machines attractive, price wise...
All that said? As a birthday gift? Your dad would NEVER enjoy a new Mustang as much as he would a well restored '66 fastback with a 289. I'm saying this as a guy about to turn 64.
