My worst happened while I was doing the final assembly on a motorcycle. I had all the parts and fasteners at had along with all the parts that had been plated, polished, powder coated or painted. In other words, everything was there.
I started after dinner, around 8:00. When I do mechanical work I do not wear a watch. It was one of those times when everything just went together with out a problem; the CD player was loaded with old songs and it was as if time stood still. Once again I was 18 years old and 59 was a long way off. But all good things must come to an end; and so did the evening when my wife opened the door and said, "Do you have any idea what time it is?" My answer was on the tip of my tongue when I notice the the first hints of a new day coming through the garage door windows. It was 6:15 am and it was the end of an evening I will never forget. The bike was finished.
