This is a great thread, everyone has thought alot about this clearly, after reading I'm left with the following,

-Drive someone else's well sorted 915 and compare. My 83 shifts very well, and is considerably better than the 901 in my previous 914. To be honest, though, it took me a long time to get comfortable with it. I was really used to my 901 and the where the shift planes were, the 915 is different, and after getting better with it, I can see why it is better. The 3-4 shift is much smoother and is no 5 second afair like some are saying, and the 3-2 downshift or vise versa is very easy with the way the spring loaded forks prevent you from hitting 5th.

-My guess is that Poosan's 915 needs some work of some kind-maybe just re-alignment of the shift forks.
