I parted out my 245K 84 Targa with a 103K motor and came out about $15K when I delivered the shell a year after I started. Had $20K into the car total with an excellent suspension upgrade/refresh and repaint, but was parking lot tapped here and there.
Taking a car apart is not difficult. What's time consuming is boxing and shipping.
If I could have gotten $12K for the car, I'd have taken it given everything. Problem was no one was going to give me that.
It's a good time of year to sell a targa. unless you are in a hurry, eBay, Craig's List, AutoTrader.com, Pelican...someone is bound to come along in the next 2-3 months who will appreciate your and John Walker's care.
