My early '85 is my keeper. It was my first Porsche and what introduced me to the world of "real" automobiles (formerly I'd only owned American junk or Japanese junk). Yes, the 951 is faster, yes it's more "valuable", yes it's not a 911, yes it's "only" an early 944, etc. but it's the one that taught me what it was like to actually love a car and delight in caring for one.
I'd sell all my other vehicles before I ever sold that one. I delight in keeping her up and in tip-top running order. One of these days I'll be able to address the cosmetics (needs a repaint badly) but that's a high-$$$ proposition, so it's on hold. I figure I have my whole life to get it done and done correctly by someone that actually takes pride in their workmanship, not just a "spray mill" like one of the chain places. That's about all she needs.
