seeing those SR-71 images reminds me that (by chance) I met Ed Beaumont in our tiny hospital here in no where Wisconsin a couple years ago. His story is pretty well known in U2 circles (see his story at:
http://www.netwrx1.com/skunk-works/v05.n074). Instead of spy planes, Ed now drives a truck that carries wood to paper mills....
but is lucky to be alive conisidering his story and how many U2 drivers are on the wrong side of the grass today. Ed told me his plane is mounted on a stand outside Beale AFB today. I looked for an image of it but couldn't find one.
