SPORTO Electrical System

I have gone through the entire sportomatic system --- (vacuum leaks, micro-switch, vacuum actuator) and am down to the electrical system.

The problem is I can't select any gear including reverse, they will grind every time. With the engine off I can select any gear just fine.

I'm hoping someone may have spent some time on this before........... I need to find out if the control valve performs the same action when the micro-switch goes from neutral into a gear as it does when you shift from a gear into neutral. My problem is that with the engine off but the ignition on I can hear the control valve making noise when I am coming out of gear (therefore connecting the control valve and the Vacuum Actuator) But there is no noise at all when I go from neutral into gear (No vacuum to the actuator)

Is it possible that the stick itself has different ground points or contact points in the "inner shift lever" that work independently from the micro-switch itself?
