The lead caning holding the window glass together can react with various cleaners, especially with ammonia or cleaners containing ammonia. Also, some "stained glass" is actually painted with stains that can be removed with acetone or paint remover, wrecking the glass. Use caution and test a small corner first. Also, some of the really old window lead caning may have oxidized over the years and can crumble. Good luck, it is worth it having the bright color come back. Glenn
