I have SF on all of my vehicles and have been with them since 1984. This is probably true with every company, but my experience has taught me that you need an agent whom you like to work with and who likes to work with you.

The agent that had my accounts back in the late 80's tried to lowball me on a truck that was totalled (other driver had no insurance, so my insurance had to pay). The agent screwed with me, drug out my claim, and generally pissed me off. I moved my accounts to a different agent (next town over) and have never had a problem since.

In September 2003 my truck was hit by a deer... $3k worth of damage that SF paid without complaint. Three months later a drunk driver ran a light and t-boned the truck. He decided to have his company fight me about it so SF paid for all repairs and then went after the guy themselves.

They let me choose any shop I want, but if I use their approved shops they will guarantee the work for 5 years.
