Now my 3 fleet trucks could get gas in the morning and get to work, I could not afford my crews, that bill out at $125 an hour to sit in line for 2 hours each waiting for gas. We laughed when we saw our competitors tucks sitting in line with crews in the.

Very smart! We as business owners often have to think like that to keep business going. I flew a guy to Montreal just to apologize to clients in person that I couldn't make it myself for an evaluation of an OR. He got off the plane, had dinner, and flew home. Cost me over $2k. I've done 6 figures of business with them since.
On incomes and waiting in line - I thought about that, but most of the cars looked pretty decent. Newer Honda Accords and such. No beaters that I could see.
You couldn't pay me $500 bucks to sit in my car going nowhere for hours on end. Although, I have done it for free in Toronto.
