I think we are approaching the end of supercar popularity cycle, akin to the demise of the musclecars in the early 70s. While you could argue that gas prices were the cause of the demise of musclecars, it was really a shift in public opinion (this only in part due to gas prices)
There was an interesting quote in 'CAR' magazine a couple months back, to the effect that 'supercars will increasingly be seen as excessive, antisocial and in poor taste'
Do I want one? I wouldn't kick one out of bed, but I agree with that statement.
