Once the glass is off, it's easy to see how it all disassembles. I had my mirror housing apart to paint twice in 2 months. Once because I bought a new mirror, twice because my wife put a 2 inch scratch/gouge on it a few weeks later while in the garage.
At least she felt bad. lol
