Never had any trouble getting old watches fixed; even chronographs.
Old watch repair guys really know their stuff. Just do not go to a new jewelry, they are into production numbers not quality.
I have my grandfathers 1930's chrono (swiss), dad's 1960's Longine, etc, etc.. All easily maintained. Just have to wear it to avoid having the inerts from seizing (normal)...
