Golf is free, I haven't paid for a round in over 5 years.
I play at least once a month usually at private courses or at very nice upscale public courses.
What you do is, when a salesman or vendor calls and asks for an appointment you tell him that you are swamped and can't find time to meet with him. Then you tell him that you are so busy you were barely able to get friday off to go play golf.
He asks where you are going to play. You say you don't know yet, where ever you can get a tee time.
He wants to give you his sales speel so he says, hay why don't you play with me at pelican Hills or wherever, my treat. He gets your attention for 4 hours so he can try and sell you something, you get a free round of golf and a few drinks. Sometimes you get fed too.
Nothing wrong with it as long as you don't buy something as a payback.
