The principal says: "You get into shades of grey".
Avoiding shades of grey is simply a lack of leadership. Taking the easy way out, ignoring the unanticipated concequences. Now he can wash his hands of the aftermath.
I've long thought that the zero tolerance policies of drugs, putting cough drops in the same catagory as crack cocaine, does nothing more than teach kids that the adults are way overboard about this drug thing, and are to be ignored.
