Also, more than a few of the cars are modified with aftermarket exhaust. Who knows how hot some of these get.

What we don't want is a catastrophe that can be associated with this BBS. Or Porsches in general. This would include any kind of serious accident that could make the news. Anything like this could be devastating to our host and beyond.

If I take this too seriously, so be it. I know some folks can speak in front of a group with more ease and keep it light, yet meaningful. I don't want to sound like a prick, I'm just concerned for all of us as a group.

To those that thought any of my comments about cigarettes were uncalled for, I can only say that I could do better, but I'm not going to apologize.

Thanks for reading.
Milt, I saw your post and had to reply a thank you. The fire danger is extreme because of the record "no rain" we are experiencing. The general public isn't aware of how fast fire can spread and travel. In a steep draw on a hot day, fire can travel up to 60mph uphill. The brush when heated from the sun, lets off a methane gas that is explosive and can ignite almost simultaniously. My family had a taste of this in 1963. If the firemen hadn't made a stand at my home during the infamous Bel Air fire, I would have been homeless that night. They stood defiantly around my hilltop with hoses blasting, while neighbors reported seeing 80 foot flames enclose the entire hill. They saved mine and my neighbors homes that day, god bless them. The firemen derserve a lot more applause for all their efforts in this world.

As far as taking this too seriously, you can't take it seriously enough. Fire consumes all.

Your comments about cigarettes hit home. Every day it seems I witness some filthy, sub-human slime throw their cigarette out their car window. You can only imagine how I wish I could react to this. Not only is it killing all the sea turtles that try to ingest the cigarette butts, but we know that some of the fires are started by these inconsiderate low-lifes.

We have never met each other Milt, but I like your attitude. I've heard many good things about you from other people. Please keep your comments about cigarettes and the fire danger coming. ...and god bless.
